SkiWelt Going is a haven of peace. However, the small ski area in the very east of the SkiWelt is an insider tip for connoisseurs. Around the Astberg, deceleration is the order of the day - ideal for families and for all those who appreciate fine pistes and sunny slopes away from the hustle and bustle. And as an added bonus, there are the most beautiful views of the surrounding mountains around the Astberg: for example, directly at the top station of the Astbergbahn - with a wonderful view of the Wilder Kaiser and also in the direction of St. Johann as far as the Kitzbüheler Horn and Kitzbühel with the Hahnenkamm and the mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps....
ADVANCED / PLEASURE SKIERS
Particularly popular with ambitious skiers: the Astberg piste in Going - one of the most beautiful and varied slopes in the SkiWelt with exciting terrain transitions and a wide, steep piste. On the sunny side of the Astberg, carvers can look forward to wide, moderately steep slopes - a pleasure even in spring.
And if you are looking for a day of skiing with a real challenge, set off from Going on the "Kaiser-Runde" with almost 20 kilometers of pistes and over 4000 meters of altitude difference, the SkiWelt can be discovered lift by lift, piste by piste. Ideally, the start and finish are in Going - but you can of course also start at any other point on the circuit.
BEGINNERS AND NEWCOMERS
Beginners and newcomers can look forward to many easy blue pistes on the Astberg, wide and spacious runs. Ski paths defuse difficult passages on the valley descent of the Astberg piste - and defuse descents in the SkiWelt Going for less experienced skiers too. The large practice area in the valley (Ellmau-Going practice meadow) with its own practice lift is ideal for beginners. The ski school located at the valley station provides the best training for all winter sports enthusiasts.
FAMILY / CHILDREN
The Going ski school offers tailor-made training for piste fleas: with the Pingu Kids Club (group lessons for children from 4 - 15 years) and a maximum group size of 8 people per class for child-oriented and individual lessons.
EXPERIENCES
One of the most beautiful toboggan runs in the SkiWelt is the 4.5 kilometer long toboggan run on the Astberg. The run leads either to Ellmau (Naschberg - Hotel der Bär) or directly to Going (practice meadow) and is floodlit daily until midnight. Suitable equipment is available for hire from Goingsport directly at the Astbergbahn valley station.
For non-skiers
Even those who prefer to enjoy winter without winter sports have numerous options in Going: Many wonderful winter hiking trails on the Astberg offer wonderful views of the mountains with the Wilder Kaiser, Loferer Steinberge and Kitzbühel Alps.
Arrival & Service
You can reach Going quickly and directly via the A12 highway: take the Kufstein Süd exit, then the Eibergstraße B173 and the Loferer Bundesstraße (B178) directly to Going - or coming from St. Johann/Kitzbühel, also via the B178. There are plenty of free parking spaces at the valley station of the Astbergbahn Going.
