Panoramic mountain in Going

From the Wilder Kaiser and the Kitzbüheler Horn to the Großglockner - a gigantic view awaits me on the Astberg at 1,175 meters - that is pure panorama. A place where I can feel the freedom. First, a relaxed ascent on the Astbergbahn chairlift. Once I reach the top, I take time to breathe deeply and feel the wonderful peace that the lake radiates. It lies there quietly, surrounded by mountains, with the imposing Wilder Kaiser massif in the background. This place is uniquely beautiful, especially on a clear summer's day. The Astberg lake glistens in the sunlight. The silhouette of the Wilder Kaiser is reflected on the surface of the water. From the wonderful viewing platform, I let my gaze wander over the Kaiser mountains - the panoramic loungers invite you to relax.

The Astberg delights me with a real open-air cinema, which primarily serves as an oasis of calm. There are comfortable wooden loungers on the various plateaus, which offer me the perfect opportunity to unwind and recharge my batteries with a gigantic panoramic view.

From the center of Going, walk right past the parish church on the Söllnerweg towards the forest. You will pass several farms. At the Gabelhof farm, you walk a short distance downhill along the road until you have almost reached your destination at the Hollenauer Kreuz snack station. The Hollenauer Kreuz is located on the right-hand side with a breathtaking view of the Wilder Kaiser, which you can enjoy from a bench. The snack station is located directly on piste 100b. Astberg winter hiking trail
From the Astbergbahn valley station in Going, walk along the road towards the center of Ellmau. You can also start your hike from here. In the center, head towards Ellmau parish church and turn left uphill towards Treichlhof/ Jezz Alm in the Kirchbichl district. From the Jezz Alm, a snow-covered winter path leads over to the Astbergbahn mountain station. Here you can ski back down into the valley.
