Giant lake hike

RiesenWelt theme trail to Hopfgarten and Söll

Directions

3 lakes, mountain forest and a panoramic view of the peaks - this and much more can be experienced on this circular trail! The Hochbrixen gondola lift takes you directly to the starting point - the Filzalmsee lake in the RiesenWelt. From there I hike up to the Kälberalm, past the Jordan Chapel, where, according to ancient folklore, a healing spring has its source. At the Kälbersalvensee lake, I enjoy a sweeping panoramic view over the Brixental valley and the icy peaks of the Hohe Tauern. The Hohe Salve reservoir is slightly below, from here I hike to the middle station of the Salvenbahn I Hopfgarten, which takes me comfortably to the summit of the Hohe Salve. At the summit, I enjoy a wonderful view of over 70 three-thousand-metre peaks. I continue with the gondola lift to the middle station in Söll to the popular Hexenwasser, from where I return to the Filzalmsee on the Riesenweg trail.
