Directions
The 2.2 km long adventure winter hiking trail to the Stöcklalm leads you through a wintry landscape with snow-covered fields and offers breathtaking views of the Hohe Salve right from the start. Along the way, various resting places with benches invite you to relax. Here you can discover many small natural wonders, such as icicles, snow flowers and impressive plays of light. Depending on the weather, there are also artistically designed snow sculptures to admire along the way.
The hiking trail starts at the top station of the Hexenwasser gondola lift in Hochsöll. From there, turn right past the Blaues Wunder (with a self-catering room and indoor play facilities) and continue to the "bewitched winter wonderland" with a gingerbread house and natural ice rink. With a bit of luck, you might meet the winter witch at the campfire.
After crossing the slope, the trail leads towards the witches' umbrellas. At the maple tree house with the suspension bridge, the trail then climbs steeply to the right. Along the edge of the forest, you finally reach the steeper "Holzweg" downhill (only for sure-footed hikers) or stay on the flatter, more leisurely path, which leads you slightly downhill to Gasthof Stöcklalm. After a refreshment stop, take the direct route back along the piste and the witches' umbrellas until you reach the starting point in Hochsöll again. There are a total of 100 meters of altitude to overcome.
