Directions
I take the Salvenbahn I to the middle station in Hopfgarten and start my tour to the "Rigi" mountain peak with its stunning views. From there I return via Itter. You have to push your bike a short way through the forest before you reach the picturesque village with Itter Castle. To get back to the starting point in Hopfgarten, take the well-maintained hiking trail in the "Hacha" district towards the soccer pitch to the Salvenbahn I valley station.
Without gondola ride
Even if you make the first 500 meters easier by taking the gondola lift, the 400 meters of altitude difference to the Rigi are really tough and will shape your calves.
