Bike Tour: Salvenberg Loop Trail

Trail Description

Ascent on the Salvenbahn I (up to the Hopfgarten mid lift station) – Rigi – Itter – Hopfgarten bottom lift station

Duration: 1.5 hrs.
Length: 10.5 km
Elevation gain: 500 metres

Even though the first 500 uphill metres are made easier by using the gondola, you still have a good 400 uphill metres to the Rigi Alpine guesthouse to get those calf muscles burning. The ride downhill to Itter is broken up by a short “pushing” section in the forest before you reach the picturesque village with the dominant castle. The return to Hopfgarten is on a well maintained hiking path from the football field via Hacha.
