The Hofburg Innsbruck owes its present appearance to Maria Theresa. The rococo façade, the court chapel and the state rooms bear her signature. In the Giant's Hall, the portraits of her 16 children demonstrate the fertility and political power of an unusual regency.
The inner apartment was luxuriously furnished for Empress Elisabeth in the mid-19th century. The silk fabrics are of rare quality and the color scheme is extravagant. High-quality toilet furniture and the single bed refer to Sisi's cult of beauty and her individuality.
