Itter
The sunny panoramic plateau
The lords of Itter Castle have always enjoyed an outstanding view over the Inntal valley and the Wilder Kaiser and Kitzbühel Alps. This is how they overlooked the location and that should only be right for you as a guest. The small, pretty community, which positioned itself as a rose village a few years ago, is located on a sunny high plateau. Itter is the first access point to the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental. The practice slopes in the valley are particularly popular with children and beginners. A floodlit toboggan run, an extensive network of cross-country ski trails, cleared winter hiking trails, guided snowshoe tours... make your winter vacation something special, even away from the slopes.
Itter is the ideal starting point for hiking and biking amidst flower and herb meadows. Or you can simply enjoy the view and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. In addition to tennis courts and a heated outdoor swimming pool with a large sunbathing lawn, Itter also offers one of the best comfort campsites in Europe.
A magnificent castle adorns the small community, which is also Itter's landmark. It is not known exactly when Itter Castle was built, but the castle and its village were first mentioned in a document in 1420.
